Masqueraders, Leave the Kids Alone

Recently There was a News Item in the Times of India ( Dated 19^th July, 2007) under the heading, Mockery Of Law and it gave barbaric detail of How Two Children Aged 4 and 8 have been termed a criminals under 498 A or 156 (3) and how Police has been looking to arrest these boys even after knowing they are of that age.

As per reports, Children are absconding  or evading arrest and it is not clear whether they are attending school in hiding or not. Police has conducted raids on possible hide out of Kids.

These Children are brothers / relatives of a person whose Vindictive Wife looked to teach him a lesson by naming these fragile Children as Criminals. ( as per TOI Reports)

Age 4 and Age 8, at his age is it even conceivable that Harassing for Dowry can take place. Well you can say, Technically Yes,  The crocodile teary complainants will say “ These boys used to continuously demand chocolates and ice creams everyday”.

Not only Children, even aged people and innocent Woman, Sisters, Bhabhies and Chachis have been made to undergo technical arrest after undergoing bail proceeding and countless sleepless nights for demanding even less or allegedly abusing Vindictive self proclaimed Victims who Masquerade as victimized wives and make mockery of Laws and courts every single day in so many courtyards. This is also taken note by Times of India report.

Police and Complainant Lady’s Lawyer are quoted as saying that the situation arose because police and courts were not aware of the actual age of the Children and hence they were named as accused.

“While the police in a bid to comply with the court order continued
raiding possible hideouts of the kids, the complainants advocate
name explained that as name had not disclosed the age of the
accused persons, this goof up took place. "

 But what about the Complainant who claims to be harassed by Young Boys so much that she wanted to get them arrested. She also did not know their age?

And why is the Police, Champions of Children Rights and National Minister for Child Welfare are silent on this and why there is no media outcry against this barbaric complaint and what steps are being taken so that these events do not take place.

Aziz Premji and Kids can find themselves in exalted company of Haryana Chief Minister and countless others who had a taste of this law.

Similar events have taken place when some persons have named their infirm husbands who had met with accidents as harassers. Millions of Fathers, Mothers, sisters , Brothers and relatives have been forced to flee and go into hiding because of this archaic law that is so barbaric to even put down on Paper and come to think of it, 498 A is the only law that is implemented as barbarically.

Police gets piece of paper, there are 1 to 100 names on it and whole machinery just wakes up to arrest those 100 people. They don’t even look whether the person whose name is in the accused list is minor/ major or has any complaint at all against him and this activity continues  years where innocent people are continuously harassed.

And the real irony is in Courts and Police station where every official says off the record, “ These reports and complaints are 99% fake.”

Even TOI takes note of that

“The case has, however, added to the swelling number of the frivolous anti-dowry cases in which the criminal justice system is used as a tool to settle personal scores. This is happening despite several higher court orders in the past asking lower courts to avoid entertaining flimsy use of anti-dowry law. The latest such direction had come from the Delhi High Court on March 13 last.

"The trial court must take into account the entirety of the case,
all documents which are brought to its notice and thereafter decide
whether there was a case made out or the court was being used as a
tool," Justice SN Dhingra had observed in his order.”

 

How Many Children aged 4 to 84, ( They are someone‘s children too) will continues to face this criminal law, How Many fathers will remain justifiably afraid to meet their sons or be forced to stay away from their sons and daughters, How Many Parents will shed silent tears to see theirs sons and daughters being dragged to courts and CAW cells for a crime that was never committed?

How Many and How Long…..Well It should not continue for Long.

We need someone in power to say

“Hey Masqueraders, Leave the Kids alone.

All in all it is just another brick in the wall”

And if we Cant get someone in power to say that, we need to unite and concentrate on putting someone who has guts to say all this in a position of power.
